SierraSurf 400 DO

Chemical Name / INCI:

PEG Dioleates

CAS #:

9005-07-06

Chemical Family:

Nonionic Surfactants > PEG Esters

OVERVIEW

SierraSurf 400 DO is a nonionic surfactant derived from the reaction of oleic acid with polyethylene glycol (PEG). It is readily biodegradable and offers a safer profile for both the environment and human contact compared to many conventional nonionic surfactants. With its high renewable content, SierraSurf 400 DO provides low foaming, strong emulsification, excellent lubricity, and effective surface filming. These qualities, combined with its eco-friendly attributes, renewable sourcing, and cost-effectiveness, make it a valuable additive in diverse formulations. Its Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance (HLB) of approximately 9 makes it particularly suitable for oil-in-water emulsions and similar applications.
