OVERVIEW

SierraSulf TO, a Sulfated Tall Oil, also referred to as Sulfonated Tall Oil or Tall Oil Sulfate, is a versatile bio-based anionic surfactant with broad industrial uses. Made through Ascent’s proprietary sulfation process, sulfuric acid reacts across the double bonds of tall oil fatty acid (TOFA). Naturally water-insoluble TOFA becomes water-soluble or dispersible after sulfation, delivering a unique combination of emulsifying and dispersing properties that make it a valuable ingredient across multiple formulations.
