OVERVIEW

SierraSulf SBO 65 is an aqueous solution of sulfated butyl oleate, also referred to as butyl oleate sulfate or sulfonated butyl oleate. This unique bio-based surfactant is especially valuable in textiles as a dispersing and emulsifying agent for oils, waxes, fats, and pigments. It is an excellent re-wetter and lubricant, highly effective in sanforization (pre-shrinking) of cotton fabrics. Its lubricating action improves stretching and controlled shrinkage of woven fabrics, while its re-wetting and detergency properties enhance preparation and finishing efficiency. SierraSulf SBO 65 also serves as a reliable leveling agent and lubricant in dyeing processes with direct, reactive, disperse, and acid dyes. Beyond textiles, it is used in paints as a wetting and dispersing agent, and as a formulary ingredient in surface cleaners, where it provides effective bio-based surfactant and detergent performance.
