OVERVIEW

SierraSulf ALS 30 is Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS), the ammonium salt of ethoxylated lauryl alcohol. Also known as ammonium dodecyl sulfate, this versatile anionic surfactant is widely used for its strong foaming and cleaning properties. It is suitable for a broad range of applications including frothing latex compounds for carpet and textile processing, shampoos, body wash, and industrial cleaners. With low levels of salts and free fatty alcohols, SierraSulf ALS 30 contains no hazardous ingredients. Some cosmetic formulators prefer it because its relatively large molecular size makes it less likely to penetrate skin, allowing for easier rinsing and a reduced potential for irritation. This balance of performance and mildness makes it a reliable choice in both personal care and industrial formulations.
