SierraEster GS

OVERVIEW

SierraEster GS is produced by reacting glycerin with stearic acid, a fatty acid obtained from animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is widely used in cosmetics and personal care products as an emulsifier, emollient, and thickening agent. It helps to form stable emulsions by reducing the surface tension between oil and water phases, thereby enhancing the texture and consistency of formulations such as lotions, creams, and hair care products. Additionally, glyceryl stearate acts as a lubricant on the skin's surface, giving it a soft and smooth appearance, and slows the loss of water from the skin by forming a barrier on the skin’s surface.
