Surfactants
SierraSulf ALES
OVERVIEW
SierraSulf ALES is Ammonium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (ALES), an anionic surfactant formed as the ammonium salt of ethoxylated lauryl sulfate. Also referred to as ammonium laureth sulfate, this chemistry incorporates polyethylene glycol (PEG) units, giving it excellent cleansing and foaming performance. It is widely used in personal care products such as shampoos, body washes, and cleansers, where it provides strong lather and effective removal of oils and soils. While generally regarded as safe in rinse-off formulations, higher concentrations may cause mild skin or eye irritation in sensitive individuals. Its balance of performance, cost efficiency, and foaming properties makes it one of the most common surfactants in personal care applications.CERTIFICATIONS & REGULATORY
